Posted on 06/03/2023

(June 3, 2023) – A 21-year-old Aurora man died Saturday from injuries he sustained earlier this week in a vehicle versus motorcycle crash in the Gateway Park neighborhood.

Patrol officers responded about 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, to a report of a crash near the intersection of Chambers Road and East Moncrieff Place. A white Toyota van was attempting to turn north onto Chambers from Moncrieff when it was struck by a green Kawasaki motorcycle that was driving south on Chambers.

The preliminary investigation revealed the motorcycle rider was speeding at the time of the crash. The 21-year-old was not wearing a helmet. He was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. He died from his injuries Saturday morning.

The man’s name will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.

The Traffic Investigation Unit responded and closed southbound Chambers Road for more than 2 1/2 hours for the crash investigation. The investigation remains active to determine if the driver of the van will be cited.

Anyone with any information about the crash is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867).

The crash marks the 29th traffic-related death this year in Aurora.
