Major Projects Now Complete

Public Transit

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) provides public transit services in Aurora via rail and bus, connecting the region to Aurora. Several transit-oriented developments have been built or are under construction around Aurora's rail stations, featuring pedestrian-oriented, mixed-use development with a mix of residential, retail and office uses.

East Colfax BRT Construction will extend into Aurora in May 2026, from Yosemite to I-225:

Construction will be completed in a single phase, with work occurring simultaneously at both eastbound and westbound stations.
Traffic control cones and lane closures will be used in active construction zones as work progresses.
Traffic will remain open in the center lanes of East Colfax Ave. throughout the project.
Work will progress block by block, with each section expected to take about 3 to 6 months to complete.
Construction work for the side-running stations will occur within designated work zones that include portions of the sidewalk.

Business owners also may take a self-assessment to consider how your business might be impacted by Colfax BRT construction and what you may need to do to prepare.
