About Us

The Library and Cultural Services Department is in charge of providing city residents with access to arts, culture, education and entertainment in many forms.

History

The Library and Cultural Services department began with the founding of the Aurora Public Library in 1929, thanks to the generous support of the Aurora Women's Club.

Since our first library at 1516 Dallas Street, the department has grown to include dance and visual arts, theater, artistic space and history.

Mission Statement

The Library & Cultural Services Department fosters lifelong learning and cultural enrichment through literacy, creativity, arts, and history for the benefit of Aurora residents and beyond.
