The Veterans Affairs Commission meets in the Eagle Room, 4th Floor, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. However, due to the current COVID-19 situation, meetings are held virtually. Mission
The mission of the Aurora Veterans Affairs Commission is to advise the City Council on providing accessible programs and integrated resources related to housing, transportation and employment to significantly improve the quality of life for all military, veterans, and their families within Aurora.
Qualifications
- Must be an Aurora resident
- Registered voter
- Active Duty in a Uniformed Service of the United States or serving as a traditional Guardsman/Reservist or Individual Mobilization Augmentee. Or, honorably discharged from a Uniformed Service of the United States.
"Uniformed Service of the United States" shall mean either the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service Commissioned Corps or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps.
