Business Recognition Awards

Through the Business Recognition Awards Program established in 2005, the city of Aurora has acknowledged businesses in our community that have contributed to the city's economic vitality. Honorees are presented with the award at a celebratory event hosted by the city.

Winners of the 2020 Business Recognition Awards and the Chuck Hahn Small Business Advocate of the Year Award were recognized in 2021 at a virtual ceremony. The ceremony may continue to be viewed at AuroraTV.org.

This year's ceremony for the 2021 award program will take place at an in-person event in the fall 2022 at the Aurora Municipal Center. The deadline to submit nominations has been extended to July 31.

The program recognizes not only the economic vitality that businesses of all sizes and types bring to Aurora, but also the support these businesses provide to their employees and broader community. Award winners will be honored in person this fall at the Aurora Municipal Center.

Nominees will be evaluated by one or more of the following criteria: resiliency and community impact; innovation and creativity; “small, small” businesses with great customer service; manufacturing; and equity, diversity and inclusion. Honorable mentions also will be given to essential heroes such as community organizations, individuals, nonprofits and community initiatives that continued to provide essential services throughout the pandemic.
