Building Code, Contractor Appeals & Standards Board

Usually meets at the Aurora Municipal Center, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway, Aspen Room on the 2nd Tuesday of January, April, July, October at 3 p.m. However, Due to the current COVID-19 situation, meetings are held virtually. To act as a Board of Adjustment and Appeals and Board of Standards regarding building codes and contractor licensing, review administrative error, and suspension/revocations of licenses.


Must be an Aurora resident and registered voter for at least one year prior to appointment. The Board shall include two citizens not connected with building construction; one member who qualifies for a Commercial Building Contractor license with five years experience in construction; one structural design engineer; one architect; and one electrical design engineer.
