Pre-application Meetings

Meetings designed to help landowners, developers and their consultants understand Aurora's submittal, approval and permitting requirements for their specific development project.  To begin the development process contact ODA or submit a Pre-Application Meeting request in the Customer Portal

New Development

New Development is characterized by development of vacant land, demolition of buildings to create vacant land and increase of ground coverage of buildings by more than one percent of the lot size. New development generally requires a site plan review, civil plan review, and building permit review.

Redevelopment

Redevelopment is characterized by less than 10 percent increase of ground coverage, minor alterations/improvements to a site which is lacking an approved site plan, projects deemed to need only an administrative site plan amendment (E-470, NE Plains) and subdivision platting and easement-only access.

Building Modifications
Building Modifications is characterized by single family residential projects with three or fewer units, do-it-yourself home remodeling or repair work, contracted residential work and commercial and residential projects that do not propose changes to exiting exterior elements on the site plan.
