(May 27, 2023) - The Aurora Police Department's Traffic Unit is investigating a crash between a car and a motorcycle that left one man dead.

Aurora police officers responded at 10:14 a.m. Saturday to a report of a crash near the intersection of East Smith Road and Chamber Road. Investigators have determined a Chevrolet Cavalier was traveling west on Smith Rd, making a left-hand turn into a business just east of the Chambers intersection. A Honda 600CVR motorcycle was traveling east on Smith Rd and struck the passenger side of the Chevrolet.

The 25-year-old Aurora man who was riding the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on scene. His identity will be released by the Adam's County Coroner's Office.

The 66-year-old man driving the Chevrolet was uninjured and remained at the scene.

Smith Road was closed for just over four hours. Traffic Investigators will now be responsible for reconstructing the scene and examining physical evidence to determine the cause of the crash and any contributing factors.
