Being a strong steward of Colorado’s water means getting involved. Volunteer for one of our events or in the Aurora Water-wise Garden, take a water conservation class or become involved with the Citizens' Water Advisory Committee. We have a lot happening.
Aurora Water-wise Garden
The Aurora Water-wise Garden is the largest garden devoted to the art and science of water-wise landscape in Colorado. Our seasonal volunteer opportunities (mid-April through mid- October) connect people with the outdoors, plants and water conservation. We offer flexible commitments for individuals and large groups. Build your skills and serve your community in caring for the Aurora Water-wise Garden.
Household Chemical Roundup
The Household Chemical Roundup is an annual event that allows Aurora residents to safely and efficiently recycle or dispose of those items that can be harmful to people, pets and the environment — or just difficult to get rid of.
Although the 2022 roundup is canceled, click here for additional resources available to Aurora residents.
High Line Canal Cleanup
The High Line Canal Cleanup is a volunteer event to clear trash and debris from the 12-mile stretch of canal that runs through Aurora. The 2022 event will be held on Saturday, May 21.
