CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2023 CAST OF: "The Nutcracker Ballet"

Aurora Dance Arts is excited to announce the finalized cast list for the 2023 Fall Production of "The Nutcracker Ballet."
Please click all the buttons below that include the Cast List, Rehearsal & Costume Fitting Schedules, and the Casting Fees, Policies & Protocols for those who have been selected for this year's production. Please make sure to check the entire Cast List, as some dancers have been cast in more than one section. Please make sure to double-check the Rehearsal Schedule for the sections in which dancers are cast to make sure that you can commit to all aspects of the production.
Thank you to everyone who auditioned! We are very proud of everyone's efforts. Unfortunately we were not able to cast all dancers who auditioned this year. Please remember that it was previously stated that auditioning does not guarantee casting and we do have limited roles available in this show. This is also a very ballet-based show, so that also factored into our casting decisions. Even just taking part in auditions is a very important aspect of the dance education process, as all dancers have to learn how to accept "no's" gracefully. If your dancer was not cast in this particular show, we do encourage them to keep dancing, keep working hard in your classes, and come back to wow us in future auditions.
Please remember that we are on a tight schedule to create this show, so it is preferable that dancers do not miss any rehearsals. However, if necessary, dancers are allowed 2 excused absences ONLY within the entire rehearsal period. No absences allowed for Tech & Dress Rehearsals nor Performances.
Please remember that both for the aesthetics of the show & for dancers’ health & safety, it is imperative that dancers who are involved in this show are training consistently. Attending rehearsals & not attending dance technique classes is not acceptable. Aurora Dance Arts students are allowed 2 excused absences only within the entire rehearsal period in any given technique class. And again, not missing class at all is most preferable.
After careful consideration of everything stated above, please accept or decline your part in the show by Monday, August 28 by e-mailing [email protected]. Please note that if you e-mail us to accept your role, you are also agreeing to the absence conditions stated above, and you understand that if a dancer fails to meet these conditions, the director/choreographers reserve the right to remove any dancer from any section of the show & re-cast as necessary.
When e-mailing, please state the dancer’s name, which role/s they are accepting/declining & please detail any preexisting rehearsals conflicts that you are already aware of (i.e. an already planned vacation, school conflict). Please note, excused absences include only: required school conflicts, preexisting events/trips, family events or unexpected illness and/or quarantine due to Covid-19 exposure.

We are proud to announce the members of the Aurora Dance Hearts Performing Groups for the 2023-24 Season.

The Aurora Dance Hearts are special group of dancers who serve as ambassadors for the program at various events throughout the year. Generally, these groups perform anywhere from 10-15 extra times per year!

Participation in these groups was decided by audition & the process is selective. Dancers must commit to a challenging schedule of extra classes/rehearsals & appearances, and though it is demanding, it is also,!!!

Please click the button link below for the members of the group for the 2023-24 Season.

Please make sure to assess your commitment to the Aurora Dance Hearts very seriously. Thank you to everyone that auditioned. We are very proud of all of you!

All Students involved in the Aurora Dance Hearts are required to take their assigned Sunday Aurora Dance Hearts class time based on which group they are in. This does include a minimal, monthly class tuition fee of $20 per dancer. Dancers in Group B are also highly encouraged to take Ms. Minda’s Sunday Intro to Choreography class

All students involved in Aurora Dance Hearts are also required to take at a minimum: one ballet & one tap class per week in the ADA Continuous Children’s Dance Program. Other styles that are highly encouraged are: jazz and/or contemporary, dance conditioning, hip hop, additional ballet or pointe classes.

More information about participation in these groups, division of casting (there will definitely be some extended casting divisions amongst dancers in Group A), performances, etc., will be given when Aurora Dance Hearts classes/rehearsals start in September.
