Independent Review Board Recruiting
Purpose
The Independent Review Board (IRB) is designed to assist the Chief of Police in the deliberative process in determining an appropriate level of discipline for instances of sustained misconduct by subject members. The IRB may also review events that draw significant community interest.
– Each IRB panel that is convened will consist of four (4) civilian members and four (4) Police Personnel.
– The City strives to appoint members that represent its diverse population.
– THE IRB process, although significantly supported by the Aurora Police Department, is a function of the Human Resources Department under the control of the Director of Human Resources or designee.
