
The summer kicks off the search for finding fun and exciting things to do until the cold air comes back to send us inside again. Although there are obvious places to start, such as zoos, camps and sports, there is one place that could offer an escape, for free.
That place is the library.
Aurora Public Library is a hub of discovery, and a library card not only provides access to books but also access to language learning, test prep and career building; just to name a few. The library also has a mobile app, APL on the Go, and services such as Libby, Kanopy and Bibliotele where you can read, listen and view your next book or show on the go.

Summer of Imagination: Unearth a Story
Visit any Aurora Public Library branch through July 31 to unearth a story! For ten weeks, children, teens and adults can explore their library and be part of the summer reading program, for free! Participants who sign up will receive a free book; an activity log filled with reading challenges and engaging activities and the chance to win exciting prizes along the way.

Music at the Movies at select city of Aurora parks
Music at the Movies combines concerts and movies into one event at three city of Aurora Parks starting Wednesday, June 24. A half-hour of entertainment by a local artist will begin at 5 p.m., followed by a featured film at 6 p.m.
The events are free and no registration is required. Bring chairs, blankets and snacks to enjoy during the show. For more information, visit AuroraGov.org/MusicAtTheMovies.

Jose Sacal Bronze Exhibit
Sacal: Exposición de Bronce is on display at Aurora Central Library, 14949 E. Alameda Parkway, featuring 21 unique bronze sculptures by internationally renowned Mexican artist José Sacal. The exhibit will remain on display through July 31, offering the community free access to one of Mexico’s most celebrated sculptors.
Made possible through the partnership of the Mexican Cultural Center, Aurora Public Library, Aurora Art in Public Places, Casa Estudio Sacal, the Sacal Foundation, and the Consulate General of Mexico in Denver.

Farmers Market at Hoffman Heights Library
Join Aurora Public Library and Rebel Marketplace 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, June 24, July 29 and Aug. 26 at Hoffman Heights Library, 1298 Peoria St., for an evening farmers market with fun activities. Programs include pickling workshop, DIY printed totes and camping storytime.
