Little Free Libraries

lfl ambassador program

Thank you to everyone who applied for our Little Free Library Ambassador Program! We received over 100 applications and successfully planted over 40 new Little Free Libraries in Aurora Neighborhoods! Thank you for your overwhelmingly positive response to our program and for helping us maintain Little Free Libraries throughout the city!
The Aurora Public Library maintains  Little Free Libraries throughout the city! These unique boxes are located in public parks, nearby schools and rec centers, and even on two historic sites!

While we are no longer supplying and distributing LFL boxes, we do highly encourage individual builds. For private property locations, the only requirements on the City side for having a Little Free Library are that the box must be at least 1 ft. off of established trails and sidewalks and must not interfere with utility or irrigation lines. For HOAs, greenbelts, and public parks, the managing entity must be consulted for additional regulations and restrictions. Should you choose to create your own LFL box, please consider registering it at https://littlefreelibrary.org/ which also has additional tips and tricks for box construction and prefabricated boxes for sale. Please also feel free to contact the library for questions regarding Little Free Libraries.
