Aurora Police Seek Public’s Help with Assault Suspect Information
Posted on 05/21/2025

(May 21, 2025) – The Aurora Police Department is asking for the public’s help with information about a suspect involved earlier this month in an assault at a west Aurora park.

About 6:30 a.m. Thursday, May 8, Aurora police patrol officers responded to Expo Park, 10955 E. Exposition Ave., for a report of a serious assault. Once on scene, officers spoke with a woman who said she was walking on the High Line Canal Trail when she was attacked from behind by an unknown man.

The woman fought off her attacker and warned other women in the area about the suspect. The man then left the scene and was last seen heading north through Expo Park toward East Virginia Avenue.

Detectives have made several attempts to identify the suspect, but all viable leads to date have been exhausted. Investigators are interested in speaking with anyone who might have information about the crime and the suspect.

The suspect was last seen wearing white tennis shoes, green pants and a black jacket. He is described as standing approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 175 pounds, with dark, shoulder-length hair. The suspect may have sustained facial injuries during the incident.

The investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with any information about the suspect is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867). Tipsters can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
