Get ready to enhance your neighborhood and strengthen relationships with your neighbors with support from an Aurora Neighborhood Improvement Grant.

The city has allocated $60,000 for grants in 2026, with a maximum of $5,000 per awarded project. In 2025, nearly $60,000 was awarded to 14 neighborhood organizations across the city.

These competitive grants fund projects like clean-up events and little free libraries that improve a neighborhood's physical condition, enhance pride and identity, increase neighborhood communication and bring new assets to the neighborhood that foster gathering and positive experiences.

To get started, attend one of three pre-application meetings to learn about the funding process:
Tuesday, Jan. 20, 6 p.m., Aurora Municipal Center, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway, Aurora Room
Wednesday, Jan. 21, noon, virtual
Thursday, Jan. 29, 6 p.m., virtual

Visit AuroraGov.org/NeighborhoodGrants for virtual meeting links. A recording will also be available on the webpage.

Applicants are also required to meet with a city community engagement coordinator to ensure the project logistics like city permits are addressed. To schedule your meeting, email [email protected].

Applications will be available starting Tuesday, Jan. 29, and must be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, April 17. Selected projects must be completed by Friday, Oct. 30.

Eligible projects must be within Aurora city limits, provide an identifiable benefit to the neighborhood, have a specific timeline and involve at least three households.

Learn more and apply at AuroraGov.org/NeighborhoodGrants. For questions, email [email protected] or call 303.739.7900.
