Golf carts, temporary restrictions, split tee times and rolling closures return during offseason months
Aurora golfers, fall is in the air and offseason operations will begin in November. With cooler temperatures and shorter days, it is common practice for Aurora Golf to implement temporary restrictions across all five courses.
Due to Stage 1 Drought and dry conditions currently affecting the golf courses, we will be restricting use of golf carts until spring 2027. These conditions have created heightened stress on the turf and limiting cart traffic is necessary to protect playing surfaces and prevent long-term damage.
Cart Use
The Golf Division returns to split tee times and cart restrictions with the end of daylight saving time on Sunday, Nov. 1.
Aurora Hills – carts allowed
Meadow Hills – walking only
Murphy Creek – cart path only
Saddle Rock – cart path only
Springhill – walking only
On Tuesday, Dec. 1 all courses will be walking only through winter.
The use of personal golf transportation devices — including bicycles, one-wheel devices, scooters, electric boards and similar equipment is prohibited. The use of personal golf transportation devices will be reevaluated when regular cart use resumes. Both push and pull bag carts are allowed for use.
Rolling closures
Four golf courses – Aurora Hills, Meadow Hills, Saddle Rock and Springhill will implement rolling closures starting Friday, Jan. 1, 2027. This will be reflected on tee sheet availability and
GolfAurora.com. The rolling closures will allow course superintendents and staff to complete offseason projects around properties and give courses a break from daily traffic.
Murphy Creek will close for play and cover their greens on Dec. 1 and will reopen spring 2027. Their practice areas and golf shop will remain open.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and understanding. Updates will be provided as soon as conditions allow for any change in cart access.
If you need a golf cart due to mobility or other limitations that require accommodation, please speak to one of our staff members.
