(Aug. 17, 2026) – The Aurora Police Department Robbery Investigative Unit made an arrest Sunday night after responding to a report of a robbery involving a nonfatal shooting in northwest Aurora.
Julien Weeks, 18, of Denver, was arrested on charges of first-degree assault, robbery and violating a court order. He has since been transferred to the Adams County Jail where he is being held on $150,000 bond.
The charges stem from about 7 p.m. Sunday, when Aurora patrol officers responded to a report of a 21-year-old man who self-transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. About the same time, officers were also responding to a shots fired call in the 2200 block of Ironton Street. Officers quickly determined the two calls were connected.
Investigators with the Aurora Police Department Robbery Investigative Unit and Gun Violence Suppression Team responded to lead the investigation. Detectives and patrol officers conducted an extensive canvass of the area for evidence, which led to the identification of Weeks as a possible suspect.
Weeks was arrested without incident about 8:30 p.m. Formal charges will be filed by the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
The investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867). Tipsters can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
