(Dec. 10, 2025) – The Aurora Police Department last week arrested an Aurora man with over 400,000 images and videos of child sexual abuse material.

Michael Ray Lozano, 52, was arrested Thursday by the Aurora Police Department Fugitive Apprehension and Narcotics Unit on eight charges of felony sexual exploitation of a child. The charges stem from 2023 when the FBI first learned about a suspect attempting to download child sexual abuse material in Aurora. The FBI executed a search warrant and seized numerous devices from Lozano’s home.

A search of those devices revealed several terabytes of child sexual abuse images and videos. Due to Lozano being an Aurora resident, the FBI referred the investigation to the Aurora Polie Department Internet Crimes Against Children Unit so charges could be filed in state criminal court.

Lozano has been formally charged in Arapahoe District Court. He is free on $5,000 bond.

The investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867). Tipsters can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.

The Aurora Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Unit is partnered with Homeland Security Investigations, the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation as part of the Colorado Cyber Guardian Task Force, which is comprised of local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in the Denver metro area. The task force focuses on child exploitation and child sex trafficking investigations.
