Walk or bike the trail
The accessible eight-mile lake trail is open year-round for biking and walking. Get your steps in while enjoying beautiful winter wonderland views.
Ice fishing
Fishing is a year-round sport in Colorado! When the ice on the reservoir gets thick enough, drill a hole and drop a lure – you might catch trout, bass, perch, muskie and more! (Always check with reservoir staff or park rangers before heading out on the ice.)
Snowshoeing
When the powder piles up, take a unique trip around the reservoir with snowshoes!

Wildlife viewing
Aurora Reservoir is always abuzz with wildlife! Keep an eye to the sky to see bald eagles, hawks, owls, geese and more. You may even catch a glimpse of pronghorn and mule deer as they roam.
