Havana Sidewalk Project Open House Dec. 9

A Dec. 9 open house will provide residents along Havana Street between East First Avenue and Montview Boulevard with a chance to review design plans for phase 1 and provide input.
The project will improve pedestrian access in two locations along Havana Street, filling in gaps in the sidewalk network, widening substandard sidewalks and improving multimodal access. Project improvements on Havana Street include implementing some recommendations from the 2023 Havana Street Corridor Study.
The open house is scheduled from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Crawford Elementary School, 1600 Florence St. A Spanish interpreter will be available.
The targeted locations are Havana Street from Montview Boulevard to East 13th Avenue, and Havana Street from East Fourth Way to just north of East First Avenue.
These locations were selected for this project since they are heavily used transit-oriented corridors where the need for safe and convenient pedestrian and bicycle access to transit facilities is critical.
