Get ready for “snow” much fun. The city of Aurora Winter 2025 to 2026 Activity Guide is finally here, and it's packed with a variety of exciting activities for the “coolest” time of the year.

This year’s winter guide contains 73 jam-packed pages full of classes, programs, outings, and more for those that prefer to keep things indoors and our cold-weather enthusiasts alike.

Older adult programs now at Central and Southeast recreation centers
You asked, and we listened. Programs for older adults ages 50 and older will now be available at Central and Southeast recreation centers. Check out the “Older Adults” section of the guide to learn more about the range of programming happening at your local recreation centers, including trivia, line dancing, pickleball tournaments and more.

Get in the Game with A.R.I.S.E. Special Olympic Basketball Programs
Join us for our Special Olympic Basketball programs this winter. Programs take place on Mondays from 4 to 4:45 p.m. at Central Recreation Center and on Thursdays from 12:45 to 2 p.m. at Southeast Recreation Center and Fieldhouse.

Our Adaptive Recreation and Inclusion Services for Everyone (A.R.I.S.E.) program encourages meaningful recreation opportunities and programs for individuals with disabilities to enhance and expand social, cognitive, affective and physical abilities.

We are always looking for participants that fall within specified age groups with and without disabilities to participate in our Special Olympic Programs. Volunteers are also needed. Please email [email protected] for more information and learn more at AuroraGov.org/ARISE.

Native American Winter Stories return at Plains Conservation Center
Back by popular demand! Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Native American culture with an engaging and educational storytelling program designed to celebrate and preserve the oral traditions of Native American communities. Each story is told by JoDene Sherwood and is accompanied by native dancers performing traditional dances.

Join us on Dec. 6, Jan. 10 and Feb. 21 from 1 to 2 p.m. for a truly unique and inspiring cultural experience.

Give your child the gift of STEAM with Aurora Sparks
Aurora Sparks is a new youth-driven, licensed after-school program for youth ages 6 to 12 that puts creativity and choice at the center. Each week, kids explore hands-on activities like robotics, art, gaming and tech, guided by their own interests. The program builds teamwork and self-expression, ending with a Showcase Night to celebrate their projects. This program is available Monday to Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Central and Moorhead recreation centers.

- In-Person: Visit any of our recreation centers during operating hours to register in person.
