Posted on 06/01/2025

(June 1, 2025) – The Aurora Police Department Major Crime Homicide Unit is investigating the fatal shooting of a teenager that occurred early Sunday morning in northwest Aurora.

About 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Aurora police patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting with two victims near Aurora Fire Rescue Station 2, 12600 E. Hoffman Boulevard. Aurora firefighters, returning to the station following an unrelated call for service, located the victims and quickly provided medical care at the scene.

The two victims, a 15-year-old girl and a 20-year-old woman, both of Aurora, were taken to local hospitals. The 15-year-old sustained life-threatening injuries during the shooting and died shortly after arriving at the hospital. She will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.

The 20-year-old sustained non-life-threatening injuries. She is expected to survive.

Several hours after the shooting, investigators learned about a third victim, a 15-year-old girl, who sustained a graze wound. The girl and her family declined medical attention.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation. No arrests have been made and there is no suspect information at this time.

However, based on information obtained in the investigation thus far, detectives believe there were several witnesses who captured cellphone video footage of the shooting. Detectives are asking anyone with video evidence of the incident to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers, 720.913.STOP (7867).

Tips and digital evidence, such as cellphone video, can be submitted online to MetroDenverCrimeStoppers.com/Submit-A-Tip. Tipsters can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
