Integration in the Neighborhoods

D. INTEGRATION IN THE NEIGHBORHOODS

Goal: To bring people together and eliminate boundaries of nations and generations in the city’s neighborhoods, to disseminate information about city resources to newcomers, and to make the city attractive for all residents of the community

This summer, the Global Bhutanese Organization of Colorado, in collaboration with the U.S. Citizenship and Naturalization Services and the Office of International and Immigrant Affairs, organized a citizenship workshop at the Aurora Welcome Center.

OIIA Table at APS Back to School Event

The Office of International & Immigrant Affairs had an opportunity to interact with dozens of residents at the Aurora Public Schools' Back to School Festival.

Participants at Community Gardens

Community gardens play a key role in the integration of immigrants and refugees in Aurora. Kudos to Aurora Council Member Angela Lawson, city staff member Peg Alt and local community volunteers for hosting this great social event at an Aurora community garden recently.
