Wildlife

Encountering wildlife in Aurora is to be expected as a multitude of animals call the front range of Colorado their home. Aurora prides itself on coexisting with our wild neighbors, but we understand that sometimes it can be challenging. Wildlife should always be respected, admired from a distance and never be fed.

Our Animal Protection Officers are available to respond to sightings of injured or sick wildlife, as well as concerns of a possible rabies vector (i.e., raccoons, skunks, bats, etc.).

Please note that our officers are not available to assist with the removal or relocation of wildlife from private property. If you need assistance with removing wildlife from your property, please contact a private animal removal service. There are several services within the metro area that can be found online or through your phone book.

For additional information on how to coexist with wildlife, visit Tips For Living With Wildlife provided by the City of Aurora's Parks, Rec. & Open Space Division. If you are seeking advise on how to deter animals from your property, please contact their Wildlife Hotline at 303.326.8435.

If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 303.326.8288.
