Attention Cat Lovers: We utilize several PetSmart and Petco stores in the metro area. If you see a cat on the website there is a chance it could be at one of these locations. Click on the desired cat's photo and the location will be noted in the cat's information IF the cat is at a PetSmart or Petco. If you need assistance in locating where an animal is being housed, please call us and we will be happy to assist you.

Since 2020 we have seen a huge increase in people wanting to adopt. Most of our animals are getting adopted within 24 hours after being made available on the website. This is great news for our animals, but we understand that this can be frustrating for people searching for a new pet. Currently the best days to check the website for available animals are Thursday and Saturday. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

Before you being the process of searching for a new pet. Here are a few useful tips to keep in mind when selecting the right pet for you and your family: A few things to consider when adopting a new dog.

10-year-old Hermie has been waiting for a new home since the end of February. Hermie came to the shelter when her owner lost his home. While at the shelter Hermie was extremely fearful and avoidant of people. In order to help her with her confidence and reduce her stress, Hermie was placed in a foster home. Since then Hermie has shown great improvement and is now ready for adoption!

The shelter is seeking an adopter that is experienced with cats and will continue to work with her confidence. Hermie is not ideal for adopters with young kids, however, another cat in the home could greatly benefit her. If you are interested in meeting with Hermie, please contact the shelter at 303.326.8280 to schedule an appointment to visit.

Huckleberry is a fun and adventuresome dog that needs a home that can cater to her active lifestyle. Huckleberry would make a fantastic walking companion as she loves exploring the great outdoors. This adorable one year old pup thrives on attention and will reciprocate affection. As is standard in most young dogs, Huckleberry will require training and daily exercise. Due to her size and energy level she is not ideal for homes with young kids or apartments.

If you are interested in meeting with Huckleberry, contact the shelter at 303.326.8280 to schedule an appointment to visit.
