In April, the community will have its initial chance to participate in Connecting Aurora, the city of Aurora's first-ever citywide multimodal transportation master plan.

The city is hosting open houses throughout Aurora to gather information from the public and explain the planning effort. For those who cannot attend in person, a self-guided online open house and other feedback opportunities will be available at throughout April.

Connecting Aurora will examine the city holistically to identify projects, policies, standards, and programs that will make the city's transportation systems safer, more comfortable, and more convenient for everyone. The plan will build upon the public engagement efforts of previous transportation projects and the city's commitment to inclusive public engagement.

As part of the plan development, the city is evaluating Aurora's existing transportation system, including critical safety issues, mobility and connectivity challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

Open houses will take place at several locations throughout Aurora to gather feedback. A food truck will provide a meal and refreshments on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants may show up anytime during the two-hour period on the following dates:

Tuesday, April 2, 5 to 7 p.m., Aurora Central Library, 14949 E. Alameda Parkway
Wednesday, April 10, 5 to 7 p.m., Mission Viejo Library, 15324 E. Hampden Circle
Wednesday, April 17, 5 to 7 p.m., Martin Luther King Jr. Library, 9898 E. Colfax Ave.
Tuesday, April 23, 5 to 7 p.m., Tallyn's Reach Library, 23911 E. Arapahoe Road

Whether you walk, bike, roll, drive, or take transit in Aurora, share what challenges you face related to transportation and what you care about related to mobility in this city. The project team is committed to reaching out to diverse voices in this effort and gathering meaningful feedback to make sure the plan reflects the community’s priorities.

Additional feedback opportunities will take place as the plan develops this year and into 2025. Visit to learn more about the project and sign up for project updates.
