Aurora-South Metro SBDC Recognized Nationally

The U.S. Small Business Administration has announced that the Aurora-South Metro Small Business Development Center has earned its national Small Business Development Center Excellence and Innovation Center Award for 2024.

Marcia McGilley, executive director of the Aurora-South Metro Small Business Development Center, has been invited to receive the award at a May 2 ceremony at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Washington, D.C., during National Small Business Week.

The U.S. Small Business Administration recognized the Aurora-South Metro Small Business Development Center for its role in driving our nation’s economic growth. Since the inception of the Colorado Small Business Development Center Network, the Aurora-South Metro Small Business Development Center has fostered the spirit, support and success of entrepreneurs and innovators, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration’s award letter.

As part of this annual recognition, the U.S. Small Business Administration also named Benjamin and Christine Herron of Achieve Sports Center's Aurora location as the 2024 Colorado Small Business Persons of the Year. 

The Aurora-South Metro Small Business Development Center is one of 14 centers statewide that significantly impact the state’s economy. The center is dedicated to assisting Aurora’s small businesses achieve their goals of growth, management improvement and financial success, positively impacting the local economy.
