The city of Aurora launched video profiles this week at AuroraTV.org to announce the winners of its 2026 Aurora Business Recognition Awards program, which began in 2005 to celebrate successful businesses that are leaders in the workplace and community. This year’s winners are:
Legacy Award: Sam’s Meats has sold locally sourced meats and seafood for more than 40 years. The family owned and operated butcher shop takes pride in providing great customer service and a welcoming atmosphere.
Small, Small Business Award: Heirlooms Antiques Mall offers a hidden treasure trove of antiques, books, vinyl records, art, vintage items and oddities. The business continues to invest in its small but friendly staff, even as its customer base and unique offerings grow.
Innovation and Creativity Award: Nick’s Garden Center & Farm Market is a destination where every season offers a chance for a community celebration. People know Nick’s is a place where they can find not just greenery and fresh produce, but imaginative events that make memories.
Culture and Community Leadership Award: CEDS Finance was created to support immigrant, refugee, black, indigenous and people of color, Muslims and low-income entrepreneurs through outreach activities that strengthen neighborhood economic resilience. The multilingual team supports entrepreneurs in their native language and in ways that reflect their cultural context.
Service, Hospitality and Entertainment Award: Dân Dã is a shining example of the thriving multicultural food scene that Aurora embodies. This artistic and inviting eatery, which recently earned a Colorado’s 2026 Recommended Restaurant designation from MICHELIN, specializes in authentic Vietnamese comfort food.
The winners will be highlighted on the city’s social media channels this week. In the coming weeks, they will be showcased on AuroraTV’s “Aurora Now” newscast and recognized with an in-person visit from the city’s Business Advisory Board and city leadership to present their award.
