Gun Club Road (Quincy to Aurora Parkway)

The city of Aurora is partnering with Arapahoe County to improve a 1.5-mile stretch of Gun Club Road between Quincy Avenue and the Aurora Parkway and Powers Place intersection.

Preliminary design work done in 2021 involved public outreach and generating three conceptual alternatives in coordination with adjacent planned developments along the west side of Gun Club Road between Belleview Avenue and the E-470 on-ramp.

This next phase of the Gun Club Multimodal Gap Closure project will provide final design for a four-lane interim section of roadway and conceptual design plans for the planned ultimate six-lane section of roadway. Other project elements include intersection improvements, multi-use paths, utility relocations, stormwater improvements, and right-of-way acquisition if necessary.

One design approach being considered includes initially developing the project to its full width and then constructing the inside lanes at a future point in time to include the ultimate six-lane roadway section.

Aurora and Arapahoe County anticipate conducting a public meeting in the spring 2027 to provide more information to community members.
