Eight Free Fall Activities Not to Miss in Aurora this Autumn!
Fall Into Fun PumpkinLooking for ways to soak up everything fall has to offer in Aurora without breaking the bank? Check out these eight free activities designed to help you enjoy the season to the fullest:

Fall Into Fun – Saturday, Oct. 25

Our biggest fall event is BACK in 2025, with live entertainment, food trucks, vendors, a kids’ area and more set to take over the Great Lawn at the Aurora Municipal Center on Saturday, Oct. 25.

We’re going all-in on fall-themed activities, with a roster of fun things to do that’s set to include a pumpkin patch with pumpkin decorating kits, petting farm, food trucks, craft vendors, hay-bale maze, live music, train rides and inflatable axe throwing. Don’t forget the trunk or treating – so don your best costume and great ready for fun!

Monarch Tagging – Sept. 2 through Oct. 15

Befriend butterflies all throughout September and October as part of the Monarch Watch project, a community science program run across the country to track Monarch migration. Learn all about the species before getting out into the field to catch, tag and release them. No experience required!

The program runs on select dates from Sept. 2 through Oct. 15 at five locations across the city. Ages 9 and older are eligible to participate. Click here for additional details and to sign up and volunteer!

SCFD Free Day at PCC – Saturday, Nov. 15

In November, Plains Conservation Center and the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District team up to bring you a free day of nature programming at PCC!

Take wagon rides on the prairie to see resident wildlife, tour the 1880s tipi camp and homestead village, and get up close with live eagles, owls and falcons at our HawkQuest presentation.

Registration for Free Days is not required. However, it is recommended to come early to get free tickets for HawkQuest, as seating is limited.

Star K Kids – Sept. 4 through Nov. 20

For our youngest nature enthusiasts, Star K Kids at Morrison Nature Center features stories, puppets, crafts and discovery time on the trail designed just for kids ages 5 and younger (and their grown-ups too).

For over 15 years, this free program has been sparking joy, curiosity and a lifelong love of nature. The program runs on Thursdays from Sept. 4 through Nov. 20.

The Aurora Forum for Older Adults – Friday, Oct. 10

For our active adult crowd, our Aurora Forum for Older Adults returns this October with a variety of presentations on topics related to embracing aging in a healthy way. The event also includes a resource fair where attendees can visit with various service providers and learn about new benefits options, products, services and more!

The Aurora Forum for Older Adults runs from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10 at the Aurora Center for Active Adults.

Kids Golf Free - Daily

Hitting the links this fall? Bring your kiddos along at free and heavily discounted rates and spend the day on one of our five fantastic courses together. Here’s how it works:

- Ages 17 or younger are free DAILY after 2 p.m. with a paying adult
- $5 per additional child
- Normal cart fees apply for adults
- No cart fees for kids
- Not valid on holidays or for league play.

Please note, time changes to 1 p.m. when the time changes in the fall and will revert to 2 p.m. in the spring. Click here to book a tee time!

We Are Aurora Youth – Oct. 13 through Oct. 17

We Are Aurora Youth is a program designed to give the youth ages 13 to 18 of Aurora a fun and safe place to hang out during school breaks.

Youth can receive free entry to Central Recreation Center, Moorhead Recreation Center, and Southeast Recreation Center and Fieldhouse on weekdays from noon to 7 p.m. this October!

Attendees can participate in staff-led activities such as basketball, volleyball, flag football, esports, gift card competitions and other activities. From noon to 4 p.m., the designated recreation central will have free meals for youth provided by Aurora Public Schools.

Coffee with Conservation at Aurora Water-wise Garden – Saturday, Sept. 13

Have a coffee with Conservation! Join Aurora Water for some conversation about conservation at the Aurora Water-wise Garden. The coffee is on us. Bring a cup and your questions on all things water conservation.

The final Coffee with Conservation takes place from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13at the Aurora Water-wise Garden located at 15151 E. Alameda Parkway.
