Building Inspections

The City of Aurora (in conjunction with the State of Colorado)  has transitioned to the requirements of the 2026 National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) (effective 8-1-2026).

Any new applications for permit of electrical work will be reviewed and inspected to the 2026 NEC requirements.

Any permits pulled from existing single-family master plans will automatically be processed under the 2026 NEC.

Any multifamily master plans will need to submit revisions to show compliance with the 2026 NEC before further permits are pulled.

Please note: The recent system upgrade of Aurora4Biz platform and all of its portals has eliminated the need for secondary security measures through an authentication portal that required additional verification and login.

Because of this, we have removed this additional login step.

Removal of this dual login requirement has returned the login process to its former state and made the login process more user-friendly for you. Your convenience and security remain our top priorities.
