(May 1, 2023) — The Aurora Police Department Traffic Investigations Unit is investigating a fatal crash that happened Sunday night in District 2.
At 11:38 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 225 at East 6th Avenue. A 1995 Chevrolet Corvette drove off the left side of the highway and rolled.
The driver, a 21-year-old Parker man, died from his injuries at the scene. The passenger, an unidentified woman, was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that weren't life threatening.
This investigation is ongoing, but speed is considered a contributing factor to the crash.
The driver's name, as well as the official cause and manner of death, will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner's office.

This marks the 18th traffic-related fatality this year.
