Introducing PerfectMind

Introducing PerfectMind, APL's new online calendar & registration system
Posted on 11/04/2021
When you search online for our free library programs in November, you’ll notice something new, and possibly, very familiar! We’ve transferred all of our program information and registration to the City of Aurora’s PerfectMind platform, which is currently used by Aurora residents to register for classes through Aurora Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department, Dance Arts, Aurora History Museum, and more.

We’re excited to join this platform – which will give library customers easy one-stop access to programs, events and classes across the city. For customers who already have a PerfectMind account with the city, simply look for “Library Services” from the Activity homepage.

If you’re new to PerfectMind, APL staff is here to help you get started! Check out our PerfectMind How-To guide here or watch a tutorial video here, to learn about how to sign up for an account, add family members and register for programs at Aurora Public Library.

Our new events calendar is now viewable. Program registration via PerfectMind will begin on Monday, Nov. 15. Please call your local Aurora Public Library if you would like to register for a program before Nov. 15 and APL staff will get you all set up!

When you view APL programs, either from the Activity homepage or directly here, you’ll find our services broken out into program categories to make it easier to find just what you’re looking for:
- Adult
- DIY – Programs that focus on creating, learning new skills, or using the resources in Hoffman’s new CreateSpace
- Get Social – This is where you can find programs where you can interact and meet new people, such as game nights and discussion groups.
- The More You Know… - Classes to help you reach your full potential, including computer tutoring, resume building, English conversation groups, legal clinics, and more.

- Book Clubs – Check out our book clubs, which cover a wide span of genres and interests! There’s a group for everyone!

- Family – Visiting the library is a great way to spend time with your family.  Find out what we have to offer beyond books – you’ll be amazed at the fun you can have at our locations…and it’s all FREE!

- Storytimes & Early Literacy – Did you know that getting your child ready for school starts from the moment they’re born? Even better – do you know how easy it is to incorporate these skills into your daily activities? These programs focus on creating a welcoming environment to not only build a love of reading in your young child, but empowering parents with skills to help their child succeed in the future.

- Kids – Created for kids ranging from kindergarten- fifth grade, our libraries offer after school clubs, crafts, reading assistance and more! You’ll find great programs for the kids in your life.

- Tweens/Teens – Intended for youth in fourth through 12th grade, these events offer opportunity for learning, creativity and fun in a safe and welcoming environment. Programs can range from learning how to program, to chilling with friends, to actively planning library events and earning valuable community service hours for school and scouting organizations.
