Archival Research

Welcome to the Aurora History Museum and Historic Sites Archives. Here you can explore our finding aids to discover what information is contained in our archives.

Search Newspapers: We have partnered with the Colorado State Library and the Colorado Historic Newspaper Collection (CHNC) to digitize and make available to the public Aurora Colorado’s historic newspapers. CHNC provides access to digitized historic newspapers from all over the state of Colorado. Click on the button below to access the CHNC website. Newspapers are one of the best resources for research. Click the "Historic Newspapers Collection" button below to uncover headlines and reveal stories of the past.

Submit a Research Request*: Do you need us to conduct research for you? Would you like to come in and review an archive? The Aurora History Museum provides research services to aid patrons on a variety of topics focused on Aurora, Colorado. Please be as specific as possible when filling out the research request form. We ask that patrons allow up to 2 weeks for requests to be completed. To submit a research request please click the button below. Research requests and appointments are subject to fees.

Appointments for Archival Research*: Currently, we are not accepting appointments for in person research in our archive, however, you may submit a research request. The Aurora History Museum welcomes patrons to review archival materials in person by appointment under the supervision of a staff member. Please see our Finding Aids below to view what we have available in the archives. If you do not see what you are looking for fill out a Research Request Form with as much detail as possible on the topic requested and the Curator of Collections will contact you.
