Join Us Oct. 26 for Nine Mile Bridge Meeting
Posted on 10/05/2021

The community has waited a long time to have a bicycle/pedestrian bridge near Parker Road and Interstate 225 that will enable people to cross safely over Parker Road near the RTD Nine Mile Station while simultaneously improving traffic flow along this major metro-area corridor.

If you live, work or regularly visit this area, join us for a virtual public meeting from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26. At the meeting, the project team will:
•           Show images of the bridge design
•           Discuss the plans for and impact of construction
•           Answer questions about the project

To register for the meeting, visit and click on the Register Now link to sign up. Spanish interpretation will be provided during the meeting (a call-in number will be provided after residents connect via the WebEx link). For residents who need interpretation services for other languages, email by Oct. 12 to make the request.

The pedestrian bridge crossing Parker Road, or State Highway 83, will connect the Nine Mile Station with The Point at Nine Mile transit-oriented development and numerous other homes and businesses on the north side of Parker Road. The city has a Complete Streets framework in place now, and the Nine Mile bridge will help address the needs of all types of travelers, including pedestrians, bicyclists and those with mobility-assist devices.

The city has been granted federal funds through the Denver Regional Council of Governments to help pay for bridge design and construction. Additional funds from the city’s Art in Public Places program will pay for aesthetic enhancements, and public outreach efforts in early 2021 provided some guidance on those elements.
