City Announces Finalists for Court Administrator

Following a national search, the city of Aurora has announced three finalists for the vacant Court Administrator position.

Under the direction of the City Council, the Court Administrator provides leadership, executive direction, administration, operation and management of the City’s Municipal Court and Detention Center, and ensures the effective implementation of policies established by the City Council.

The three finalists are (click on names for biography, experience and personal statement):

  • Candace Atkinson, Court Administrator for the city of Westminster
  • Jake Medrano, Court Administrator for the city of Arlington, Texas
  • DeNeese Parker, Assistant Court Administrator for the Eighth Judicial District Court in Las Vegas

City Council, which is interviewing each of the finalists, is expected to vote on a selection at its May 9 regular meeting.

Court Administrator is one of four positions hired by the City Council. (The others are City Manager, City Attorney and Presiding Judge.) The position was previously held by Dr. Zelda DeBoyes, who retired last year after serving in the role since 1992.
