With guidance from the Aurora City Council, the city of Aurora is launching two additional American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant funding programs June 27 to support small businesses and nonprofits impacted by COVID-19. When the application period opens, those interested must create a profile on the portal to access the application and upload documents.

Aurora Small Business Grant Rescue Program

The Aurora Small Business Grant Rescue Program will provide $2.5 million in grant funding to Aurora small businesses.

Businesses are invited to apply starting June 27, and grant funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements and supply supporting documentation as outlined at The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. July 15.

The Aurora-South Metro Small Business Development Center is offering training opportunities on how to apply. Register at or for one of the following sessions:
English - June 21, 3 to 4 p.m.; June 24, 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.; June 27, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.; June 29, noon to 1 p.m.; July 6, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.; and July 8, 11 a.m. to noon
Spanish - June 22, 3 to 4 p.m.; June 23, 9 to 10 a.m.; June 28, 11 a.m. to noon; June 29, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.; July 5, 4 to 5 p.m.; and July 7, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Aurora Nonprofit Grant Program  
The Aurora Nonprofit Grant Program will provide $2.5 million in grant funds to nonprofits that serve the Aurora community to respond to community needs from the pandemic.

The application portal will open June 27, and the deadline to apply for funds is 5 p.m. July 15. Unlike the ARPA business grants, this funding opportunity is not on a first-come, first-served basis; eligible applications will go through a multi-tiered review process for funding recommendations.  

The grants will provide funding to qualified nonprofits for one-time capital or programmatic expenses on a reimbursement basis. Funding requests do not have a limit; multiple organizations will be funded. 

Virtual information meetings are available from noon to 1 p.m. June 29 (English) and from noon to 1 p.m. June 30 (Spanish) to review grant details and answer questions. Registration is not required, and meeting links may be found at
