Camp Information Ages 11-13
July 13-17
Each day includes a virtual learning component that your child is welcome, but not required, to participate in. Our daily check in is from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Here’s a sneak peak of our activities!
Monday: Our first day of camp includes virtual getting to know you games to get to know your fellow campers, an escape room style game, and you build your own propeller car!*
Tuesday: We learn about circuits during our virtual time, then you experiment and create your own.* We also talk about pop culture and comics and you make your own superhero mask using electronic components.*
Wednesday: We explore some of the technological and military history of Aurora and you construct a geodesic dome, parachute, and make an ejector seat* like the ones made by Stanley Aviation manufacturing.
Thursday: Today we talk about video games and programming. Code your way out of a maze and learn how to use 1’s and 0’s to write your name.* You also have the opportunity to try out coding to make your own game and share it with your fellow campers.
Friday: Friday is all about space and going to the moon. Participate in astronaut training and virtually race each other to complete your tasks. Then try to launch a heavy payload to the ceiling and build a moon base with what you are able to lift.
*Activities may need parent supervision, but are also taught during the virtual lesson that day.
