Interfaith Remembrance Committee

The Interfaith Remembrance Committee is looking for volunteers to assist with the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. community of faith program taking place on Sunday, January 12. Food for Thought

Census 2020

The city of Aurora Census 2020 Team is looking for volunteers to assist at various events in September, October and November.  Volunteers will assist the team with educating residents about the upcoming 2020 Census, which plays a direct role in serving Aurora's growing community.  The events take place through-out the Aurora community during different dates and times.  For more information, contact Marwa Qari at mqari@auroragov.org.

Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado (BHGHCO) is looking for volunteers like YOU! Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run (GOTR) needs coaches! GOTR is a physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd to 8th grade. The GOTR programs meet twice a week. The fall season runs from the week of September 9 through the week of November 11 and the spring season will run from early March to late May. Soccer Without Borders

Soccer Without Borders (SWB) uses soccer as a vehicle of change to help refugee and immigrant students overcome obstacles to growth, inclusion, and personal success. SWB provides year-round soccer programming, combined with English language support, academic enrichment, and mentorship opportunities to our students and their families. SWB serves middle school and high school youth from a diverse range of countries. Are you passionate about soccer, or helping newcomers learn English and life skills, please volunteer with our SWB Club! Volunteers are needed to help on Shower Trailer nights, 5:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. 
- Monday and Friday evenings at 1544 Elmira Street (parking lot)
- Wednesday evenings at 111 East Del Mar Circle (St. Mark's)

Aurora Community Connection

Academic tutors are needed to help elementary school students improve their reading and writing skills through structured tutoring sessions.  Past experience in tutoring or education is not required, as all tutors will receive an initial, comprehensive training on Reading A-Z curriculum. Tutors must commit to working for at least one full session (January-May; June-July; or August-December).  Tutoring takes place Monday through Thursday from 3:30-4:30 and 4:30-5:30 p. m. Tutors may choose to work either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, for one session or both sessions. For more information or to apply, contact Eliza Graumlich at 720.975.0147 or eliza.graumlich@auroracommunityconnection.com.  

Stanley Marketplace

Would you like to be a Stanley Marketplace Ambassador? The Stanley Marketplace is looking for volunteers to be ambassadors, by assisting visiting patrons with tours, directions, lost and found and information regarding the Hangar. Opportunities are available Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as well as Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to Noon. If you are interested, contact Allyson Fredeen at 303.332.4515 or afredeen@westfield-co.com

Seniors' Resource Center

Help older adults remain independent, become a volunteer driver. Great volunteer opportunity for retirees, stay at home parents and those with flexible schedules. Rides to medical appointments, the grocery store and other critical needs are provided. Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. An hour or two of your time will make a huge difference. Aurora Youth Options

AYO seeks mentors from all backgrounds, ages (21+), experiences and careers. Mentors are matched with middle and high school aged youth who live or go to school in Aurora and are in need of an additional positive role model. Matches are made based on similar interests, personalities and life experiences. AYO provides ongoing support to matches throughout the mentoring relationship as well as free tickets to sporting games, museums, plays, musicals, etc. Mentors meet with their youth twice a month during a timeframe that works best for them.

Children's Literacy Center

Since 1993 volunteer tutors have made a lifelong difference in thousands of children's lives by tutoring them in reading. Children's Literacy Center is now accepting applications for volunteers to tutor children who are struggling with their reading skills. For more information about volunteering or to have a child tutored, visit www.childrensliteracycenter.org or call Pamela Polke at 719.471.8672 ext. 1.

Assist adult students with GED test preparation, adult basic education or English-language instruction. Tutors work one-on-one or with a small group under supervision.
