On April 9, 2018, the Aurora City Council unanimously approved a 10-month moratorium on the acceptance and approval of development applications for redevelopment on sites that are currently occupied by existing mobile home parks. In addition, the Council approved the creation of an eight-member task force, to run concurrently with the moratorium, to study the lack of affordable housing in Aurora and to make recommendations of possible solutions to the displacement of mobile home park residents due to closures, rezoning, and redevelopment.
The Aurora Mobile Home Task Force's report is now complete and contains a summary of its efforts as well as its findings and recommendations. The report identifies five goals and associated recommendations. It has been presented to the Aurora City Council for consideration.
