Household Chemical Roundup

The 2021 Household Chemical Roundup has been canceled. Please click here for other disposal alternatives or use one of the services below.

Door-to-Door Household Hazardous Waste Program

Aurora Water’s Door-to-Door Household Hazardous Waste program provides an easy solution for residents to safely and properly dispose of these chemicals, rather than throwing them in the trash where they may leach into our water system. The fee for this service is just $10.

Items accepted include antifreeze, transmission fluid, automotive and rechargeable batteries, bathroom cleaners, electronics, spray cans, lawn care products, old gasoline, pesticides, propane cylinders, pool/hot tub chemicals and more.

To schedule a pickup, residents should call 303.249-0086. Aurora Water’s contractor, Veolia North America, will schedule the pickup and collect the $10 fee. The resident will be mailed a large plastic bag with a list of materials accepted, instructions on how to safely pack the bag and where to place the bag for pickup. The items will then either be recycled or disposed of properly.

Appointments for the door-to-door program fill up fast. For more information, call Access Aurora at 303.739.7000, email or visit

Aurora residents can take advantage of the PaintCare program any time of year. Unused paint can be returned for free to many of the locations it was purchased from. For a complete list, visit PaintCare.

Auto fluids and electronics
Used motor oil can be taken to Advanced Auto Parts, AutoZone, Grease Monkey or O’Reilly Auto Parts for recycling. Please limit the quantity to five gallons or less of oil, including antifreeze and transmission fluid.

Electronics can also be taken to Best Buy or Techno Rescue.
