Census 2020 Stations Now Available

2020 Census Stations Now Available
Posted on 09/15/2020

Thanks to a mini-grant from the American Library Association (ALA), the Aurora Public Libraries were able to install 4 dedicated Census-only computers.  These computer stations are being made available so that members of the public without access to the internet can complete the Census before the deadline on September 30.

The computers will be available beginning Tuesday, September 15, and will be open for use until the Census closes.  Using these computers is free to the public, and no library card is required.  Completing the 2020 Census should only take 15 minutes, and the results are critical for allotment of Federal funding in the upcoming decade.

These dedicated Census-only computers can be found at the following locations:

  • Central Library (2 stations)
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Library
  • Hoffman Heights Library

To raise awareness of the Census wrap-up, we’ll be hosting a bilingual live-stream Facebook storytime on Monday, September 21, at 10 a.m.  We’ll also be posting a Census Trivia game on Kahoot for teens & adults – stay tuned for release date/time.

In addition to the above programs, the library, in partnership with the City’s Census 2020 team, have collaborated on the following events:

  • Five Everyone Counts! Storytimes in February and March
  • Four Be Counted Census Chats – Coffee, Cupcakes, and the Census
  • Distributed Everyone Counts! Coloring and Activity booklets to children
