On Monday May 29, 2017 at approximately 11:36 P.M. officers responded to the 1800 Block of North Eisenhower Way, Friendly Village Mobile Home Park. Officers were conducting an investigation involving a juvenile female. At this time, details about the juvenile female case cannot be released due to her age. During the contact the female was placed in the back seat of a marked patrol vehicle while the officer concluded the investigation.

While the officer was parked near the intersection of Pitkin Street and Eisenhower Way, with the juvenile female in the back seat, a suspect approached the vehicle with a gun and fired several shots at the marked patrol vehicle. Fortunately, the officer and the victim were physically unharmed. The suspect fled the scene. A perimeter was quickly set up by responding officers and a juvenile male was contacted and subsequently arrested a short time later.

The juvenile male was arrested for two counts of attempted first-degree murder (F2) and possession of handgun by juvenile (M2). The Juvenile male is currently being held without bond. This case is still under investigation and no further details are being released at this time. Once the investigation is complete it will be presented to the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

The Crime Scene Investigations Unit and District Detectives responded to the scene and are handling the investigation into this incident. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Detective Brandon Rinnan with the District Two Investigations Unit at 303-739-6112.
