On Sunday May 21, 2017 at approximately 5:22 p.m. Aurora police officers responded to the City Center North neighborhood at East Ellsworth Avenue and South Sable Boulevard on a report of a man down with injuries.

Upon officers arrival they found an adult male bleeding with injuries, but were unclear on what caused the injuries. Officers performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation until an ambulance arrived. The adult male was then transported emergent to a nearby hospital where despite all medical efforts to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries at 6:41 p.m. Officers also located another adult female and adult male with stab wounds in the area. Both were transported to a nearby hospital, and are in stable condition. We will not be providing any further updates on their medical conditions.

Officers were able to identify an adult male suspect nearby who was taken into custody without incident at 5:47 p.m. The suspect and victims are all known to one another, and agents have identified all parties involved at this time. There is no threat to the public as a result of this incident. No further information will be provided at this time as to what led officers to the arrest of that suspect to protect the integrity of the investigation.

This homicide remains an active and ongoing investigation. Due to this, none of the involved parties will be identified, nor will a booking photo be released at this time. This case is expected to be filed into the 18th Judicial Districts Attorney's Office at which point all media inquiries should be directed there.

The identity of the deceased will be provided by the Arapahoe County Coroner's office once he is positively identified, and his next of kin have been notified.

If anyone has information about this homicide they are asked to call Major Crimes Unit Agent C. Lampson at 303-739-6013.
