On Saturday July 9, 2016 at 3:31 p.m. officers responded to 364 South Ironton Street Apartment 428 in Aurora. Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive adult male. Officers performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the male. The male was then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

There was an adult female involved who remained at the scene. This is an ongoing investigation, and there have not been any arrests made. Police are not looking for any other parties at this time. The identity of the involved adult female will not be released, and the identity of the deceased was released by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office.

Detectives and investigators from the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation.

The Major Crimes/Homicide Unit has arrested Caterrius L. Martin DOB 08/23/82 for First Degree Murder in relation to the homicide investigation reported on July 18th, 2016 at 10782 East Exposition Avenue. Martin is currently being held at the Arapahoe County Jail with no bond. A photograph of Martin will not be released at this time as the incident is still being investigated. This is all the information that is available at this time.

The Majors Crime/Homicide unit is not looking for any other parties involved at this time. Aurora Police is asking anyone with information about this case to contact Agent M. Yacano with the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit at 303-739-6090. Tipsters can also use Metro Denver Crime Stoppers by calling 720-913-7867. By using Crime Stoppers tipster can remain anonymous and be eligible for a $2,000 reward.

On Monday July 18th, 2016 at 12:04 a.m. officers responded to 10782 East Exposition Avenue in Aurora. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male with a gunshot wound. The male was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Due to this being an active and ongoing investigation there is not any suspect information available, nor have there been any arrests made. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office once a positive identification has been made, and next of kin has been notified.

Detectives and investigators from the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation.

An additional $2,000.00 has been added by the Aurora Police Reward Fund bringing the total reward up to $4,000.00. Investigators continue to ask for anyone who has any information or may have witnessed anything at all related to this homicide to please come forward and help us bring justice to the victim, and their family.

Previously posted July 21, 2016:

At around 12:43 this morning, the Public Safety Communications Department received multiple 911 calls about shots being fired at the Viridians at the Gardens on Havana Apartment Complex. When officers arrived on scene they located an adult male suffering from a gun shot wound in a vehicle which was stopped in front of 1276 South Joliet Court. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumb to his injuries.

Detectives from the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit responded to the scene and will be handling the investigation into this crime. Investigators from the Crime Scene Investigations Unit are currently processing the crime scene and are expecting to be at the scene for several hours.

No description of the suspect(s) is available at this time.

The name of victim will be released at a later time by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office.
