The Aurora Police News Blog was created in 2016 as a new way to share news and information from the Aurora Police Department with the community we serve. It is maintained by the staff of the Public Information Officer.

Aurora's first responders will be participating in a Functional Simulation Drill at the Aurora Public School's Community Campus, which is located at  55 Salida Way (area of 2nd Ave. and Airport Blvd.) on Thursday, June 16th.  The exercise will begin at 8:00 a.m. and last until noon. The majority of the drill will take place at the Edna and John P Mosley P-8 School.

There will be a large contingent of Police, Fire and EMS personnel and vehicles from multiple agencies at the campus and in the immediate area.  The area around the drill will be closed to the general public.

Agencies participating in Thursday's exercise include: The Aurora Police Department, Aurora Fire Rescue Department, Aurora Office of Emergency Management, Aurora Public Safety Communications Department, Aurora Public Schools Department of Safety and Security, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Police Department, Buckley Air Force Base 460th Security Forces Squadron, Buckley Air Force Base Fire and Emergency Services, and FALCK Rocky Mountain Ambulance Services.
