(October 27) A 57-year-old has died following a crash earlier this month near the intersection South Waco Street and East Girard Avenue.

On October 12, 2022 at 09:23 a.m., officers were called to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of South Waco Street and East Girard Avenue. The 57-year-old man driving the vehicle was found suffering life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. Sadly, he did not survive and was pronounced deceased days later.

Initial investigation found that a Dodge Durango was traveling southbound on South Waco Street when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. It was believed that the 57-year-old driver had suffered a medical episode prior to the crash. No other vehicles were involved.

The identification of the deceased would be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.

Please contact the Aurora Police Traffic Section if you witnessed this crash or have dash-camera footage of the crash and have not yet spoken to investigators. Tipsters can anonymously report any information to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers and could be eligible for up to $2,000 reward.

This is the 38th traffic-related fatality for 2022.
