(May 4) On March 4, 2022 about 4:30a, officers responded to reports of an injured woman in a parking lot near East 11th Avenue and North Peoria Street. Officers located a woman with serious injuries who was quickly transported to the hospital. The woman stated that she had just met a man a short time prior to the incident and was driven to this location around 1:30a. The man ended up choking her unconscious, pushed her out of the vehicle and then running her over. The man left the scene and the victim laid in the parking lot for hours before being discovered.

District 1 Detectives immediately began investigating this incident. The victim, who had to be hospitalized numerous times since the incident happened, died from her injuries on April 19. It was at this time that Detectives from the Major Crimes Homicide Unit took over the investigation. Just recently, a suspect was positively identified.

On May 3, Aurora Police Homicide Detectives arrested Jordan Howard (9/19/1997) and booked him into the Aurora Jail early this morning on suspicion of 1st Degree Murder. This case will now be prosecuted by the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. Jordan’s booking photo has been included below.

Major Crimes Unit Detectives believe that there might be additional victims that may not have reported being assaulted by Jordan Howard. We urge them to please come forward. They can contact Investigator Harris at 303.739.6714.

The Major Crimes Homicide Unit is asking for anyone who witnessed this, and have not yet spoken to police, to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers by calling 720.913.7867.

The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office will release the victim's name after positive identification and notification of next-of-kin.
