On February 2, 2020 at 1:16 AM, Aurora Police and Fire responded to a two-vehicle crash on eastbound Colfax Ave. between Laredo St. and Airport Blvd.  On scene they found that a 1996 Cadillac had been driving westbound in the eastbound lanes and crashed head-on into a Ford Explorer pickup.  The female driver of the Cadillac, who was not wearing her seat belt, died as a result of her injuries. The driver of the Explorer was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.   It is unknown why the Cadillac was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of Colfax.

We are not releasing the name of the deceased.  The Arapahoe County Coroner's Office will positively identify her and notify family.
