*UPDATE*

With the assistance of a watchful citizen the initial suspect vehicle was located in the area of E. Quincy Ave and S. Memphis St in Aurora. The investigation is still on-going at this time. Officers are still looking for a second vehicle that struck the victim after being struck by the initial suspect vehicle. This vehicle is described as a 2001-2003 Honda Civic two door which left the scene, it may have front left damage and missing the left front inner fender liner. On September 4th, 2019 at approximately 2:59 am, Aurora Police and Fire Dispatch received several calls stating a male was in the roadway of 1800 South Buckley Road appearing to be deceased. Upon arrival, Officers determined the person was a bicyclist and was struck by a vehicle. The driver did not remain on scene and has not reported being involved in the incident. 

The identity of the male is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin. Aurora Police Traffic Investigators are currently processing the scene. This marks the 19th traffic related fatality in Aurora for 2019.
